Product summary

  • Ibuleve Max Strength Pain Relief Gel 10% is an anti-inflammatory pain killer applied to and absorbed through the skin.
  • It is used for the treatment of the following conditions: muscular backache, muscular pain, rheumatic pain, aches, pains, swellings, sprains, strains and sports injuries.
  • This product is recommended for use by adults, the elderly and children over the age of 12 years.
  • The active ingredient in this product is Ibuprofen.
  • This is one of a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
  • Ibuprofen works by relieving pain and reducing swelling and inflammation.

Usage instructions:

  • For full instructions, read the enclosed patient information leaflet.
  • Lightly apply a thin layer of 2 to 5 cm of the gel over the affected area.
  • Massage gently until completely absorbed.
  • Wash hands after use, unless treating them.
  • Reapply as required, up to twice more daily, leaving at least 4 hours between applications.
  • Do not exceed the stated dose.
  • Do not use on children under 12 years of age except on the advice of a doctor.
  • Do not use under protective waterproof dressings.
  • If symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and restrictions

  • Do not exceed the stated dose.
  • Do not use on children under 12 years of age except on the advice of a doctor.

  • Do not cover with a bandage or plaster.
  • For external use only.

Before using Ibuleve Max Strength Pain Relief Gel

  • Although there is less risk of this product causing the complications that sometimes arise when ibuprofen (or similar anti-inflammatory painkillers) are taken by mouth, patients with asthma, an active peptic ulcer or a history of kidney problems should seek medical advice before use, as should patients already taking aspirin or other painkillers.
  • Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, or if you have experienced problems with Aspirin, Ibuprofen or related painkillers (including when taken by mouth).
  • Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Keep away from broken skin, the eyes, nose and mouth.

Taking other medicines

Interaction between Ibuleve Max Strength Speed relief gel and blood pressure-lowering drugs and anticoagulants (medicines that stop blood clotting) is possible in theory, although less likely than with oral Ibuprofen.

If you would like more advice about this, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

If you are also taking aspirin or other NSAIDs by mouth, discuss this beforehand with your doctor or pharmacist because these may increase the risk of undesirable effects.

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including other medicines obtained without a prescription.

Storage

Do not store above 25°C. Replace cap tightly after use.

If symptoms worsen or persist for longer than 7 days, consult your doctor.

Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using if you suffer from asthma, have ever had a stomach or duodenal ulcer, or are taking any prescribed medicines.
