Nurofen Cold & Flu Relief Tablets
Nurofen Cold and Flu relief tablets are dual-action tablets containing ibuprofen and phenylephrine. They relieve symptoms of a cold and flu associated with nasal congestion (blocked or stuffy nose). Ibuprofen helps to reduce aches, pains and fever, whilst phenylephrine helps ease congestion making for a powerful remedy for your symptoms. Take two tablets every 8 hours with food and ensure you leave at least 4 hours between doses, with a maximum of 6 tablets in 24 hours. It must be taken with food as the medication alone can cause stomach irritation. Nurofen Cold and Flu is suitable for children, adolescents and adults over the age of 12 years

How does it work?
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) from the same family as aspirin and naproxen. Because of this, ensure you aren't taking Ibuprofen alongside other anti-inflammatories, which can upset your stomach.
Ibuprofen's anti-inflammatory effect works by blocking the body's production of substances called "prostaglandins", which are released in response to illness or injury. Prostaglandins can cause pain and inflammation to notify the person they are unwell. They can reduce pain, inflammation by stopping prostaglandin production. Some people are bound to get unwanted side effects, as with any medication. Some common ones include:

Any side effects or require Nurofen Cold and Flu tablets for more than ten days, you should stop and speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
Should anybody avoid taking it?
Like all medications, don't take them if you have previously had an allergic reaction to the medication or medical conditions that you would typically discuss with your doctor or pharmacist before starting something new. If you are asthmatic and haven't had anti-inflammatories, they can sometimes cause an acute asthma attack.
Do not take these tablets if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have ever had a stomach ulcer or stomach bleeding, are taking another anti-inflammatory pain killer or aspirin above a daily dose of 75mg.
